Maple Mashed Sweet Potatoes

This is a great side dish to chicken fried steak .
Sweet potatoes, butter and maple syrup... Nothing else needed...
Ingredients:
4-5 small sweet potatoes
2-3 tablespoons salted butter
2-3 tablespoons maple syrup
fresh pepper to taste

Preheat oven to 350F.
Place sweet potatoes in a baking sheet , covered with foil, and bake them for about 1 hour, or until potatoes are soft. You can also boil them in salted water, if you prefer. Peel them while warm.

Mash sweet potatoes with a potato masher or with a fork. Add butter, maple syrup and pepper and with a hand mixer, whip them soft. Serve it warm.

  1. I agreee that this goes well with Country fried steak. I make this for Thanksgiving also. Sometimes instead of maple syrup I use honey.
