We don't eat fresh tuna very often, only because good quality tuna comes with an expensive price tag, and if you are gonna have a nice tuna steak , it has to be quickly seared and served rare! At least that's how i like it!
Ingredients:
2 Ahi / Yellow Fin Tuna Steaks, same fish 2 different names (1 1/2 inch thickness)
4 tablespoons white sesame seeds
1-2 tablespoon coarsely ground black pepper
1 teaspoon pink himalayan salt (you can use regular)
2 tablespoons sesame oil or canola oil
1 lemon, quartered
In a small bowl, mix together sesame seeds, salt and pepper.
Press mixture all over tuna steaks.
Heat oil in a frying pan until very hot. Cook tuna steaks for 1 minute, turning once, and cooking for another minute on other side, for rare. For medium rare cook 1 minute first side, and 2 minutes other side.
Slice into thick slices and serve warm with fresh lemons.
