Yorkshire Pudding

If there's a roast and gravy, there has to be yorkshire pudding.  It's the perfect popover, very light in taste and just perfect filled with gravy.
If you have a fancy popover pan use that, or i use a cupcake pan.
If you don't have enough beef drippings from your roast, use a drizzle of olive oil in each cupcake hole or for a vegetarian option!



Ingredients for 6 puddings:

1 egg
1/3 cup flour
1/3 cup milk
1/4 cup water
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
beef drippings or olive oil





Preheat oven to 450F. Add beef drippings or olive oil to cupcake pan and place in hot oven for a couple of minutes.
In a small bowl whisk together egg, flour, water, salt and pepper.
Remove pan from oven and pour the milk mixture into hot greased cupcake cups 1/2 way up. Bake in preheated oven for about 25 minutes, or until puffed and golden in color. Serve with your favorite gravy.

  4. This has been on my list of things to make for quite some time. I think I'm going to give it a try. I'm not a big baker and Yorkshire Pudding has been intimidating to me for some reason but I am going to do it! Thanks for your post!!

  5. I see a lot of yorkshire pudding recipes that say you should let the batter chill for at least an hour before baking them. Do you recommend it for this recipe?

  7. Found this recipe on pinterest and made it tonight with a moose roast. First time I have made or had Yorkshire pudding. Loved it!
